There are 16 national holidays in Japan.

They are New Year’s Day and Coming-of-age Day in January, National Foundation Day in February,
Vernal Equinox Day in March, Showa Day in April, Constitution Day, Greenery Day and Children’s Day
in May, Marine Day in July, Mountain Day in August, Respect for the Aged Day and Autumnal Equinox Day
in September, Sports Day in October, Culture Day and Labor Thanksgiving Day in November and the Emperor’s Birthday in December.
国民の祝日は、１月に元日、成人の日、２月に建国記念の日、３月に春分の日、４月に昭和の日、
５月に建国記念の日、みどりの日、こどもの日、７月に海の日、８月に山の日、９月に敬老の日､ 秋分の日、
１０月に体育の日、１１月に文化の日、勤労感謝の日と１２月に天皇誕生日です。
We have three national holidays in May.
There are two national holidays in January,September and November.
Only June has no national holidays.

We call the period from April 29th to May 5 Golden Week.
Because the week includes four national holidays
